England manager for Euro 2012 England Manager Roy Hodgson
The Euro 2012 is  just a mere fourteen days away so let’s take a look inside at some of the teams in this mega competition.  Shall we start with England?
The Trouble with England
Spanking brand new England manger Roy Hodgson has years of experience.  He  was  appointed on the first of May 2012 and had just officially assumed his role a few days ago. (14th May 2012) He was responsible for guiding the Finland national team to 33rd place in the FIFA rankings- the highest ever at any point during the team’s history.  He’s  managed well over sixteen teams around the globe  and  has now led the  English team to a one nil victory against Norway in a Euro 2012  scheduled friendly match in Oslo Saturday with Ashley Young scoring the decider.
Hodgson earlier dismissed the notion that he might follow in the footsteps of Sir Alf Ramsey who had infamously lost his first match as the head honcho of the England team- he  reportedly said that his focus was on winning the matches in the Euro 2012.  He although, expressed concern over England’s upcoming opening match with France.  Not a morale boosting statement but there you go.
As part of his new regime,  Hodgson is intent on creating a whole new generation of England players.
When John Ruddy withdrew from the England squad after he broke a finger,  he was replaced by teenage  sensation goal keeper 19-year-old Jack Butland from Birmingham City. Butland, who has had a stupendous season has seen big premier league names making bids for him.
No doubt, England’s had a rough start.  John Terry’s dismissal as Captain based on allegations of racist remarks against Anton Ferdinand from Queens Park Rangers sent a blow to the England team.  Steven Gerrard was left picking up the honors as new England Captain.  However, some good news for England as 31 year old John Terry is appointed Player-Manager having resolved issues with the big wig executives over at the F.A and will be joining the team in Poland and Ukraine.
Although little can be said for Wayne Rooney who picked up a red card against Montenegro in the group stages  and is now faced with a two-match suspension .  As it is, he’ll be a no show in the matches with France and Sweden in the Euro 2012 Schedule.
Hodgson’s  got his job cut out for him.

Spain’s prolific  manager Vicente del Bosque González, a former superb Spanish soccer player has brought the Spain national team much success since he took over from former manager Luis Aragonés. He brought Real Madrid to phenomenal success during his stint from 1999-2003 and would then go on to lead the Spain national team to their victories in the Euro Cup 2008 and subsequently,- to the prestigious and ultimate World Cup tournament success in 2010.

What does he feel about the tournament so far?
Vicente del Bosque was quoted as saying that he would not be making any conclusions and drawing up strategies based on the friendlies after Netherlands lost 2-1 in their match with Bulgaria and Germany lost to Switzerland, in a surprising 5-3 defeat. These aren’t important games, they’re just the friendlies, and are of no significance to the actual games, and the ones that matter would be during the actual Euro 2012 schedule tournaments- he was reportedly quoted as saying.
Del Bosque admittedly feels very confident about his 23 player squad but was quoted as humbly saying that the Spaniards were mentally strong but at the same time, not superior to anyone.
Midfielder Cesc Fabregas would join the squad despite a hamstring injury while record scoring striker David Villa who is absent from a broken tibia will miss the Euro 2012 Schedule games. That opened the doors for Fernando Torres who has been making a commendable effort to reclaim his former glory to join the squad. It was thought that Torres may possibly have not been given the opportunity if not for Villa’s absence from the squad.
Barcelona defender Carlos Puyol unfortunately will have to sit out owing to a knee injury.
Boss Vicente Del Bosque said that he felt both players Puyol and Fabregas were irreplaceable with their unique skills and was quoted as saying that the team would fundamentally miss both players and that this was a huge loss to the team.
Atletico Madrid right-back player Juanfran will play defense replacing Athletic Bilbao’s Andoni Iraola, who’s facing down an injury after a superb season with his team.
Spain has won every single match during the Euro 2012 qualifiers and are placed in Group C for the finals to meet Italy. The question everyone seems to have on their mind is can Del Bosque pull another hat trick and take the 2012 honors yet again?

One really can’t help but notice how well dressed the very soft spoken 52 year old Germany coach Joachim Löw is, all time.
The stylish Löw began his soccer career with Bundesliga Club SC Freiburg in 1978 and still holds the club’s total record in goal scoring. He has competed four times in the under 21 Germany national squad and is today considered by many to be a meticulous, innovative and a well prepared strategist.
He took over from former coach Juergen Klinsmann in 2006 and led the German squad all the way to the finals in the Euro 2008 tournament only to lose 1–0 to Spain in the finals. In the 2010 World Cup semi-finals, Germany once again lost 1-0 to Spain settling for third place honors having won the play-offs against Uruguay.
No doubt, he’s made it very clear that he wants to win. He was reportedly quoted as saying that the Germany team is “yearning for a major title” and that ultimately, he himself would like to crave a spot for himself in football history.
Seeing as how Germany has not won a major title since the 1996 European Championships, many soccer enthusiasts believe that this year may indeed change all of that.
Besides, there’s a score to settle with arch rival Spain and he thinks it’s time to dethrone the kings and end their reign once and for all.
And many believe that there’s never been a stronger and more dynamic team than the one Joachim Low has under his wings now.
With the likes of experienced players like Philipp Lahm, Klose, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Miroslav Klose- the Germany team will also benefit from the younger players like Thomas Muller, Mario Gotze, Mesut Ozil and Mats Hummels- all of whom have shown enormous potential and talent.
Joachim Low apparently agrees and was quoted as saying “We have a very balanced squad with a good age structure.”
